What is the Summer Reconnection Walk?

This is an experience for mums who feel like they have lost their sense of self and now they’re ready to rediscover who they are after motherhood.

You’ll be given space to reconnect with yourself and reflect on how you can start reclaiming your sense of self and boost your motivation to focus on what matters the most in your life.

Combining movement and talking you’ll support your wellbeing by reducing stress.

As when you’re giving all your time and energy to everyone else thinking about your own needs can be the last thing that you prioritise.

My story

The identity shift was a hidden part of matrescence, the transition to motherhood, that I didn’t anticipate.

I was going through the days on broken sleep and juggling everything that new mums experience. This was the biggest learning curve so far in life.

My intuition was strong and I had a feeling that I wanted to do something different in this new season of life. Yet when I thought about my next steps they often felt “too big” or something that I didn’t believe was possible for me.

One day everything clicked. I realised that now was the time to discover who I was becoming and how I could start making decisions on what was important to me. I developed my VOICES framework based on the steps that I took to find myself again after having a baby.

This led to me having a boost of confidence and motivation to step outside of my comfort zone by taking small steps to move me closer to what I wanted.

I became an author of my debut picture book in the first year of motherhood, which was shortlisted for the Ink Book Prize 2024. I became a chairperson of a charity in less than 3 years of becoming a mum.

And I started believing in myself more by exploring and accepting opportunities that I would never have imagined would be something I would do in my old life.

Can you relate to…

  • Feeling disconnected from yourself after previously attaching your sense of worth and identity to your career. You feel grateful for being able to watch your child grow and at the same time you want to feel like you're growing as an ambitious person beyond being a mum. 

  • Overthinking making a decision that will take you in a new direction while you're sitting building a tower with your kid on your living room floor. You can feel yourself getting impatient when they tell you you're building it the wrong way. But you know it isn't the blocks that is the issue, it's that you can't feel fully present with your child because you're planning what outcomes might happen from your decision.

  • Your life feels like it's out of your hands and you think that you need to just keep going through the motions of life. You don't trust yourself yet that you know what's right for you.

This is for you if…

  • You feel like you’ve lost your sense of self and identity after becoming a mum.

  • You want to move forward in a new direction with practical steps to rediscover your sense of ambition again.

  • You want to recognise yourself again and you’re tired of overthinking and never making a decision.

  • You know that something needs to change from what you’re doing now but you don’t know what specific thing or how you can make that change.

This is NOT for you if…

  • You’re looking for long term counselling or other therapy services.

  • You want to be told what to do and someone to “fix everything for you” without learning to listen to yourself and take action.

  • You’re not ready to be honest with yourself about what you want to do differently and look at what’s not working at the moment.

You can give yourself permission to focus on what's important to you in your new life. Then start making decisions based on if these connect back to what you value.

By the end of your session, you will:

  • Feel less overwhelmed while navigating your next steps.

  • Feel more connected to yourself and feel more able to follow your intuition.

  • Have at least one actionable step to take going forward.

This session will be personalised based on where you're at and what you would like to work through.

How it works

  • 45-minute 1:1 walk and talk coaching session

  • Delivered via Telegram (voice notes and written messages)

  • You'll walk in your own space for instance on a dog walk, after the school run, during a break in your day.

  • I'll walk in my own space while guiding you through the session.

  • Available on Tuesdays until 23rd June between 9:30–11:30am (BST)

By the end of the session you’ll:

  • Have a stronger sense of what you need in this season of life.

  • Have at least one practical step you can take.

  • A deeper connection to yourself beyond the roles you hold.
