From Lost Identity to Small Sparks: Finding Yourself Again in Motherhood
This is a conversation that reminded me why I wrote my book.
When this mum first came to me, she was in a place I know I can relate to and maybe you’ll recognise it, too.
She loved being a stay at home mum with her young children and spending time with them. But somewhere along the way she’d lost touch with the person she was beyond motherhood.
She had two little ones and found herself wondering what she even liked anymore, or what kind of work she might enjoy when she returned to paid work.
So I asked one simple question:
“What do you do when you have just a little bit of time to yourself?”
She thought for a moment and then shared something small but powerful. She’d been taking photos of things she no longer needed, books, clothes, toys, and listing them on Vinted. Ten minutes here and there. A small action. But when she talked about it, her face changed. It lit up.
She loved the sense of accomplishment from clearing out a corner of the house and creating a listing. She liked knowing her things were going to someone who needed them. She even enjoyed adding little extras for buyers because it made her feel generous.
By the end of our conversationshe saw something she hadn’t noticed herself before:
She actually enjoyed reselling.
In that small detail, ten minutes spent taking a photo of a book or wrapping a parcel, she had rediscovered a thread of enjoyment for herself.
What started as a tiny curiosity suddenly felt like a real calling. Something she could build on, explore, and maybe even turn into some kind of work or side project when the time felt right for her.
Small things are often the biggest answers
There’s a tendency to look for huge transformations: a new hobby, a retraining course, a career pivot. And while big changes can be needed and welcomed, often taking smaller steps to begin with can spark inspiration that can like us up when we give ourselves permission to focus on them.
That is exactly what I aim to create with my work. Space to notice those small lights, and gentle encouragement to follow them.
This is why I wrote How to Find Yourself Again After Becoming a Mum. The book is full of short prompts, practices and questions designed to help you notice what actually brings you joy. Even when your days are full and your time is limited
One early reader summed it up beautifully:
“It’s so helpful and interesting. It's given me so much food for thought!” - Rachel
When a book isn’t enough
For many mums, a book is the gentle beginning. For others, it’s the start of a deeper conversation. That’s why I also offer my Deep Dive experience. A focused 90 minute voice notes and messaging session followed by a week of accountability check-ins, where we take those small sparks and turn them into a practical, compassionate plan.
I’ve opened 2 Deep Dive spots. One on 2nd September and one on the 9th September.
Because I want these places to feel really supported and personal, I’m offering a small VIP bonus for the next two people who book:
A copy of my ebook How to Find Yourself Again After Becoming a Mum to use as your guidebook through the process.
A 15-minute personalised voice-note integration session after your accountability week. So that you can celebrate what you’ve discovered and help you stay motivated going forward.
These spots are for mums who want time and space to reconnect, to notice what lights them up again, and to begin taking practical next steps, without pressure or feeling like you need to be perfect.
